Share a story of Cass County at your holiday gathering
As we build on the foundation of Logansport Re-Imagined, we’re taking the approach county-wide: finding ways for every corner of Cass County to share its stories, celebrate its people, and connect over the things that make this place feel like home.
This month, as part of the Community Meeting that Cass County RED/ Cass County Re-Imagined held in Walton on Nov. 4, we tried something new: placemats designed to spark conversations about our community.
We laid them out at every seat, each one filled with simple prompts:
- What are your favorite places in Cass County?
- An idea I have for our community is …
- Draw something that reminds you of Cass County
- What would you tell someone who is moving to Cass County
We asked people who RSVP’d to attend the meeting to share something they’re proud of about our community, and included their answers on the placemat, too.
People really liked the idea, and talked about how the placemats would be great for other gatherings.
And that got us thinking …
What if more people had the chance to have these same conversations?
The holidays are a natural time for storytelling. Everyone slows down, gathers close, and reflects—sometimes without even meaning to.
So if you’re hosting this holiday season and would like to try them, you can download the PDF version below:
Print a few to set out at your table and see what happens. People might doodle. They might write down one small moment they’re proud of. They might tell a story from years ago that no one has heard in a long time. They might talk about a person or place that shaped them.
These little pieces start to paint a fuller picture of who we are. They remind us of what matters here. They help people understand what makes this place special.
And that’s what Cass County Re-Imagined is all about.
Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for helping make our community a vibrant, thriving place where people are proud to be!
