New Logansport Deputy Mayor to begin August 10, 2026

Mayor Jacob Pomasl has announced that Travis Yike will be appointed to serve as the Deputy Mayor for the City of Logansport beginning Monday, August 10, 2026.

Travis has more than 28 years of combined military and civilian law enforcement experience, bringing a proven record of leadership, strategic planning, and community
engagement to public service. Having served as Chief of Police for the Logansport Police Department, Travis oversaw departmental operations, personnel, budgeting,
policy development, and public safety initiatives while working collaboratively with
city and county leaders, community organizations, and residents to strengthen trust and improve quality of life.

Throughout his career, Travis has held numerous leadership roles, including Patrol
Supervisor, First Sergeant, SWAT Team Commander, Dual-Purpose K-9
Handler/Trainer, Drug Task Force Detective, School Resource Officer, and Defensive
Tactics Instructor. His experience includes developing departmental training programs,
leading specialized tactical operations, managing complex public safety initiatives, and
mentoring the next generation of law enforcement professionals.

Before joining the Logansport Police Department, Travis proudly served in the United
States Army as a Military Police Officer for eight years, where he led soldiers, conducted protective operations for United States Presidents, Vice Presidents, and foreign dignitaries. Travis served on specialized reaction teams both domestically and
overseas. His military service instilled the principles of discipline, integrity,
accountability, and servant leadership which continue to guide his work today.

A graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Indiana Law Enforcement Chief Executive School and numerous advanced leadership and tactical training programs, Travis has been recognized with multiple military and law enforcement awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Officer of the Year, and the Spirit of the City Award.

His commitment to ethical leadership, fiscal responsibility, collaborative problemsolving, and community partnerships positions him to effectively serve the citizens of Logansport as Deputy Mayor, helping guide city operations while advancing initiatives that promote public safety, economic growth, and an exceptional quality of life for all residents.

Travis serves the community as a volunteer in a variety of ways by teaching selfdefense classes for local women in coordination with the Cass County Domestic Violence Task Force, serving on the Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council, and as the vice president of the board at the Father’s House, a faith-based recovery home in
Logansport and Peru.

Recognized as a state leader in law enforcement, he recently served as a member of the Public Safety Transition Council for Indiana Governor Mike Braun. He currently provides executive protection for the Attorney General of Indiana.

Travis is a 1996 graduate of Logansport High School. He lives in Logansport with his wife, Michelle, and their children.
