
Chase / Davis Property
In June 2023, the Logansport Redevelopment Commission purchased land at the southwest corner of Chase and Davis Roads for future development.
Super-Voluntary Annexation of the property was approved in November 2023 and took effect on January 1, 2025.
In December 2023, the Logansport Redevelopment Commission contracted with Structurepoint Inc. to complete a land use study and develop a master plan for the property to provide city guidance on how to best use the newly annexed 60 acres. The plan was adopted in Spring 2025.
Additional traffic on Chase and Davis Roads is a concern of local stakeholders, as well as how it will impact intersections at Chase Road and Michigan Avenue, and Davis Road and High Street. The City of Logansport has been awarded a SS4A grant to look at intersections and roads like this. Drainage to the creek on site and its impact on the surrounding properties, as well as multi-family, commercial and small lot development are mentioned the plan. The property is in the process of being rezoned, with a second reading by the Logansport City Council scheduled for May 5, 2025. The rezone has the lowest density residential zoning district on 80% of the lot, with professional residential on the northwest corner of the lot that would provide uses that are already found in the area such as medical and professional offices, as well as services. Any multi-family developments would still need to go through a process to be allowed to develop on this section of the site.
