Former Jefferson School Property (401 Tanguy St.)

The City of Logansport acquired the site of the former Jefferson School at 401 Tanguy Street in Summer 2022 and ownership was transferred to the Logansport Redevelopment Commission in December 2023 as a potential location for residential housing development.

A notice of real estate for sale by the City of Logansport Redevelopment Commission published in the Logansport Pharos-Tribune on March 26 and April 2, 2024 stated that at its meeting on April 24, 2024, the Commission will open and consider written offers for the purchase and redevelopment of the real estate located at 401 Tanguy St.

According to the notice, the property to be sold consists of vacant land located at 401 Tanguy St., Logansport, Indiana 46947. The Property is 1.21 acres in size or 52,800 SF. The Property will be available for residential uses allowed in the R3, Medium Density Residential District.

Offers were due April 23, 2024.

The notice stated that the Commission is interested in development proposals which seek to develop the Property and transform it into residential to attract new residents into the neighborhood.

The Logansport Redevelopment Commission (RDC) opened and took under advisement a written offer at its meeting on April 24, 2024.

At the May 22, 2024 meeting, RDC accepted a responsible bidder of Matlock Realty Corporation & 528 Consulting, LLC Partnership. They are in their site review and agreement stage for this project. This is planned to consist of 8 duplexes.
