A ribbon cutting ceremony for Logansport’s first standalone police station was held Friday, Oct. 6, 2023. The police station is located at 729 High Street.
The project involved the renovation of the former Logansport Juvenile Correctional facility, previously Longfellow Elementary School, located at 729 High St., for $5.84 million by local contractors in a project led by Steinberger Construction.
The Logansport City Council allocated $2.5 million in American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds toward the project.
The Logansport Police Department has operated out of the southwest corner of the Logansport City Building since June 1925.
