Logansport Utilities employees donate turkeys, food, and more than $1,000 ahead of Thanksgiving 2025

Logansport Utilities announces the success of its internal “Turkey and a $20” employee food drive, benefiting the Emmaus Food Pantry in Logansport to local families this Thanksgiving season.

For every staff member’s $20 donation to the food drive, the company pledged to match their monetary gift with purchasing a full-size turkey. Teams were also asked to bring in nonperishable items. Through the generosity of staff members across all departments, the utility collected more than $1,000, a large assortment of non-perishable food items, and donated 52 turkeys, purchased from the D&R Market.

These contributions will provide full holiday meals for numerous families in the Logansport area, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

“We are incredibly proud of our team’s compassion and willingness to step up for our community,” said Logansport Utilities CEO/Superintendent Greg Toth.

Emmaus volunteer Bill Shanks thanked the utility company when receiving the turkeys and nonperishable items, and exclaimed when handed the additional donated funds, “And a Merry Christmas!”

All donations were directly delivered to the Emmaus Food Pantry, which will distribute the items to families they serve.

Logansport Utilities extends its gratitude to every employee who participated in the “Turkey and a $20” drive and helped make a meaningful difference for neighbors in need.
