Mowing, sweeping the sidewalks, picking up trash and raking leaves away from the storm drains are all things that help improve our community. Here are some tips for helping to make Logansport look its best!
Mow your yard
Grass should not be taller than 8 inches. During the spring and summer, leaves and yard waste should be placed in biodegradable brown paper lawn bags and placed near your trash can. They will be picked up on the same day as your trash. Grass and leaves should not be blown or swept into the street.
Sweep your sidewalks
Sand and dirt from your sidewalks and crosswalks CAN be swept into the street to be picked up by the street sweeper. Grass and trash should NOT be swept into the street.
Clean up trash
City of Logansport residents can set out up to two extra bags of trash or large items once a month. The schedule is based on your regular trash pickup day. Except on scheduled collection days, all trash toters and bins must be stored in an inconspicuous location and away from the street. Bins should be removed by 8 a.m. the day following scheduled trash pickup days.
The burning of trash, garbage, refuse or waste materials is prohibited and is illegal in Indiana.

Pick up sticks
The Logansport Street Department picks up brush piles every other week beginning April 1. Limbs should be stacked neatly with the cut end facing out and placed curbside or along the alley. You can find more information on the City of Logansport’s website under Logansport Street Department.
Check your storm drain
If you live near a storm drain, make sure it is not clogged with debris.
During mowing season, DO NOT blow grass into the street.
Get the right permits
Permits are required for new construction, renovation or remodeling, fencing, yard/garage sales, roof alteration & re-roofing, tearing down structures, pools, and electrical/mechanical/plumbing upgrades.
