Local organizations announce details for three upcoming events scheduled for November / December 2024
MOTHER/SON NERF WAR: The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that registration is now open for the third annual Mother/Son Nerf War. The Nerf War is open to boys ages 5-12 and their moms (grandmas, aunts, etc). This year’s event, held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, is from 5:30-7 pm. Cost is $22 for Mother and one Son, and $7 for each additional son. The Nerf War will be held at the National Guard Armory, 912 South Cicott Street. Logansport. Ammo and safety glasses provided. Refreshments include hotdogs, cookies, and refreshers from Scooter’s Coffee. Participants may register at www.logansportparks.com, click on “Catalog”, choose “Special Events”, and then choose “Mother/Son Nerf War”. CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: The City of Logansport, Logansport Parks & Recreation, Logan’s Landing, and the Cass County Community Foundation are excited to announce plans for an expanded celebration to kick-off the 2024 holiday season. Plans include a new community Christmas tree, new holiday lighting at Iron Horse Park, vendors, music, and more.
Events are set to begin at 2:00PM on Friday, November 29th with a free movie matinee at the State Theatre. Vendors will be operating and selling food and crafts in the area of the Logansport Farmer’s Market beginning at 4:00 PM that day. The annual “Light-Up Logansport Parade will step off at 6:00 PM followed by the first ever tree lighting ceremony at Iron Horse Park immediately following the parade.
The parade will begin at the traditional point on 8th and E. Broadway but will end at the Heritage Park with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Elves and even the Grinch. Parade viewers should make note of the new end location. Plans also include Civic Players of Logansport leading Christmas carols, and Junior Civic Theater performers.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced the fourth annual Breakfast with Santa pancake breakfast. Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday, December 9, 2024, 9-10:30am. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children.
Held at McHale Complex at Riverside Park, Breakfast with Santa includes a pancake breakfast sponsored by McDonald’s of Logansport, hot cocoa bar sponsored by Chase Center, digital photo with Santa by Lindsey Miller (1photo/pose per family), crafts, story time, and games. Each child will receive a book provided by the United Way and a goody bag sponsored by Black Dog Coffee. The Dentzel Carousel will be open, all rides are sponsored by real estate agent, Bailey Record of Modern Real Estate.
Registration opens October 25th and closes December 5th at 10:00 pm. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Register at: www.logansportparks.com.
