On Sept. 27, 2023, the Logansport Redevelopment Commission executed a Master Developer and Economic Development Agreement for Lexington Village with Shepler Construction, a locally-owned company that has been in business in Logansport since 1981.
Plans for the Lexington Village project estimate 52 single-family homes to be built over the next several years along High Street and Yorktown Roads in Logansport’s easternmost commercial district.
Work to secure a bond and receive funding through the READI program began in mid-2021. The bid for infrastructure work was awarded to F&K Construction in late 2022. Infrastructure work began in June 2023 and is on schedule for the dry utilities install to start toward the end of 2023 and be completed by March 1, 2024.
“The Lexington Village process has had a lot of moving parts over the last two years, but we are getting closer to the end product,” says Bill Cuppy, president of the Cass-Logansport Economic Development Organization (CLEDO) and the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce. “Our housing study data, and also engaging in a grassroots approach with our local businesses, led us to this decision to construct new single family homes in this area of town. We are thankful and excited to partner with Shepler Construction for this project and to leverage their local housing market expertise.”

New home construction is projected to begin in the first half of 2024.
