The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced a new program for recruiting lifeguards to work at the Muehlhausen Aquatic Center: those interested may receive a reimbursement to pay for Lifeguard Certification(or Recertification) Training.
The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department will cover a portion or all of the cost of Lifeguard Certification or Recertification up to $150 per person, until funds are depleted. Lifeguards must :
- Be a minimum of 15 Years of Age, and complete the hiring process;
- Work an average of 18 hours per week or a total of 180 hours before an
early departure; and
- Perform required work throughout the season with no issues.
Qualities needed to be a lifeguard include being a good swimmer, enjoy working outdoors with people of all ages, and an interest in being a leader for the public.
