Logansport Parks Foundation receives $50,000 grant through CCCF Daniel C. Anderson Fund

The Cass County Community Foundation is excited to announce that the very first grant from the Daniel C. Anderson Fund is a $50,000 gift to the Logansport Parks Foundation for the purchase of a community Christmas tree to be in the new downtown Urban Park in memory of Daniel’s father, Mike Anderson.

Mike Anderson who passed away on September 1, 2019, was a great champion for our community and left a legacy through the Cass County Community Foundation that will continue his philanthropy and improve lives through two funds established with his trust, the Daniel C Anderson Donor Advised Fund, and the Kathryn Anderson Props Donor Advised Fund. The funds allow both Daniel and Katy to make periodic recommendations to the CCCF Board of Directors for support of projects and charities.

Deanna Crispen, CCCF President & CEO said, “We are thrilled that Daniel chose to fund this wonderful holiday centerpiece for the entire community to enjoy! The 30 ft. Christmas tree will be the focal point of the Christmas celebrations downtown and provide opportunities for several gatherings, musical events, and possibly a holiday market area.”

“This gift through the Daniel C. Anderson Fund in memory of his father, Mike Anderson is something that the entire community will enjoy,” said Jan Fawley, Parks Administrator. “Christmas unites our city in a way that no other program can do. We are happy to honor Mike Anderson with this new holiday tradition. The City of Logansport looks forward to many future events around this beautiful 30’ Christmas tree here in Logansport,” said Fawley.
