Plans to begin construction on a new Logansport Savings Bank (LSB) downtown campus will be underway this month. This significant construction project will be completed in phases, with the initial construction and renovation efforts impacting the vacant building next to the bank’s main branch. That building will become the new Logansport Savings Bank Operations Center. Once completed, work will begin on the Logansport Savings Bank branch location, drive-thru, and ATM – likely planned for later next year, toward the end of 2025.

The upcoming renovations will elevate and modernize the appearance of the bank, while still honoring the tradition and tenure of our nearly 100-year-old organization. Updates will enhance customer convenience, improve drive-thru access, and increase overall visibility of the bank itself. The entire project is going to be a live remodel, meaning that Logansport Savings Bank will be fully functional and operational throughout all phases. Steinberger Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project and shares our commitment to being accessible during this process so that we can continue to serve our customers.

“This is an exciting time for all of us here at LSB,” said Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank. “We are proud to be able to make such a significant investment in our bank’s infrastructure as part of our long-term growth strategy. We believe that the new Operations Center will allow for more of our staff members to collaborate efficiently in a larger shared space, while modernizing and maximizing the footprint of our in-branch experience.

These changes will allow us to be flexible and personalized in responding to the needs of our growing and diverse customer base – offering new and additional options for digital and online banking while still being available in-person for questions, assistance, and service from people you know and trust.”

Chad went on to say, “We know that we must be adaptive and innovative as we continue to serve Logansport, Cass County, and the north-central Indiana region into the future. We are preparing to celebrate our 100 year anniversary next year, and it’s giving us a unique perspective on reflecting back while also looking forward. We are confident that this project will position us to meet and exceed customer expectations in a competitive banking landscape, both now and in the years to come.”

“Moving forward with this project was a strategic decision that supports our commitment to growth as a local, community bank,” said Tony Firmani, Chairman of the Logansport Savings Bank Board of Directors. “Expanding our campus and enhancing the overall appearance of our branch aligns very well with the city’s ongoing economic development and downtown revitalization efforts. Being a part of those efforts here at home in Cass County is important as we continue to be a strong, community partner.”

Renovations beginning on the new Operations Center are anticipated to start during the week of July 15 and will last several months. Various local sub-contractors and companies will also be used on this project as part of the local investment we are making. By completing this significant construction project in carefully planned phases, Logansport Savings Bank hopes to create a new campus with a refreshed branch image while minimizing any interruptions to customer service.

A sidewalk closure along East Broadway – in front of the bank branch and proposed Operations Center between 8th and 7th streets – will be marked at the start of construction. An alley closure between 8th and 7th streets will also be marked for a large portion of the project, to allow for necessary construction access and to maintain safety. For the customers who use the Night Drop box, it will remain accessible via the alleyway close to the bank building during this first phase of the project.

Signage will be placed where possible around the campus and the branch building to help with navigating around the ongoing construction. Additional communication about each phase of the project will be shared as updates are available. Please excuse our appearance while these renovations are in progress.
