RV Waste Station at Spencer Park in Logansport permanently closed

The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that Logansport Utilities has completed the work required to close the waste station at Spencer Park.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) notified the Logansport Utilities that regulations outlined in the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit requires monitoring of the RV waste station to prevent hazardous chemicals or prohibited substances from creating a safety hazard. Without monitoring, the waste station must be closed to remain in compliance. Neither the Logansport Parks & Recreation Department nor the Logansport Utilities has the manpower to monitor this waste station, consequently closure is necessary.
