Water hydrants in Logansport to be flushed overnight for several weeks beginning April 6, 2025

Logansport Utilities (LU) will be flushing water hydrants for the next eight weeks to improve water quality, the health of the water system, and ensure hydrants are operational and in good working order.

Starting the evening of April 6, 2025 – to minimize inconvenience LU will be flushing areas of the water system overnight Monday through Friday between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. There will be no interruption of service while this is in progress.

During the bi-annual flushing process, nearby residents or businesses may experience temporary water discoloration or low water pressure. This is normal and typically a result of the disturbance of sediment and minerals in the water pipes. The discoloration is usually harmless and temporary.

To check if discoloration has cleared, run the water at one tap for two to three minutes to see if it clears. If it does not clear, wait an hour, and try again.
